Leading Experts to Discuss “Sea Rise and the Impact to Our Coastal Economy, A Coastal Conversation”

Mobile, AL - On Wednesday, November 15 at 2:00 p.m. at GulfQuest National Maritime Museum in downtown Mobile, Al, Coastal Conversations will host their next program featuring:

Dr. Reid Cummings, Associate Professor of Finance and Real Estate and Executive Director, SABRE (South Alabama Center for Business Analytics, Real Estate and Economic Development
Justin McDonald, Chief of Programs and Project Management for Civil Works at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District
Casi Calloway, Chief Resilience Officer with the city of Mobile.

Coastal Conversations presents this event, bringing together experts, stakeholders, and concerned citizens to explore the challenges and opportunities that rising sea levels pose to our beloved coastal communities. The public is invited to this engaging and informative discussion on the pressing issue of sea rise and its profound effects on the coastal economy of Alabama.

The program will start with keynote addresses delivered by esteemed experts in environmental science, climate change, and coastal economics providing comprehensive insights into the scientific aspects of sea level rise and its multifaceted implications for the economies along our coastal regions. Participants will explore topics such as the vulnerabilities of coastal infrastructure, the effects on tourism and recreational activities, challenges faced by the fishing industry, and shifts in real estate markets.

Coastal Conversations is a program of Coastal Alabama Partnership and is a platform for citizens to engage with experts who will provide leading edge information and share big ideas. Our goal is to expand awareness of issues, to increase knowledge of best practices and to inspire positive change.
