About Us

Infirmary Foundation raises funds from the community to provide resources to Mobile Infirmary for equipment, programs and services that otherwise would not be possible.

Governed by a volunteer board of directors, comprised of community, corporate and physician leaders, the Foundation performs many key functions necessary to its continued success:

*Soliciting monetary and in-kind contributions from individuals, corporations, and other foundations
*Approving requests and distributing funds for educational programs, equipment purchases and other improvements
*Managing the investment of charitable donations
*Acknowledging and cultivating donors
*Organizing special events to support various funds and programs
*Applying for grants from other foundations and/or corporations.

Since 1984, the Infirmary Foundation has given more than $28 million back to the community.

Mobile Infirmary was founded to help improve the health and well-being of people who live and work in southwest Alabama. The Infirmary Foundation works in partnership with area businesses, schools and community-based organizations to meet that goal.

Among the programs funded entirely or in part by the Foundation are:

My BodyWorks Health Gallery at Gulf Coast Exploreum
DeBakey Drug Education Program
Diabetes Education and Resource Center
E.A. Roberts Alzheimer’s Center
ProHealth Fitness and Rehabilitation Center
Infirmary Cancer Care's Mobile Screening Unit
